How technology affects the world (August 16 it finally posted)

 Technology affects us in many different ways, for example, it has now become a main source in our daily lives. It has it's negative affects like some people wake up and immediately check it. Most people care what people think and will worry will someone actually like their post and is it going to enough for someone to like them. Today's young girls face a huge challenge of loving themselves because of all of the internet bullies that love to try and make them hate themselves. Most families have the problem of being on their phones constantly all day and ignoring what is going on around them. I know my family has had that problem. Today families have the problem of having phones everywhere and never having a break from them. How and when do they get a break and actually have family time? Technology is good in a few aspects as well, for example, it is a main source for us students to get work done or even receive help. I think that technology is very important in schools because in the work force it is a main source of how things are done.  The video about the stuff going on in China had me blown away. I never knew that stuff was going on.

    I completely agree with you on the fact that there are definitely pros and cons with technology. I believe technology is meant to be for the good and benefit the world but people are overusing and abusing it therefore leading to the con side of it. Communication and entertainment are the two biggest areas that I see technology affecting people for the worse. Technology has benefited the communication world by allowing people to talk to others all over the world more conveniently than mailing a letter. But, it has also affected so many people when it comes to face to face communication. Some don't know how to carry on a conversation in person, only through technology. That to me is truly said. As for the entertainment side, the first video showed a great example of what technology has done to the generations over the years...

 The video I watched was about rounding large numbers while adding. I think this clip was extremely helpful, especially since I have been observing this video honestly helped me explain their lesson better since the teacher has me pulling kids to help them. Comparing Khan Academy to my online classes, I like them both but I like how the Khan videos go into more detail because I need to see it worked out and done before I attempt because I learn better that way. I do plan to use this in my classroom especially during my math lessons because I feel like it helps give these students a better perspective on what they are doing and learning. I think this will be very beneficial to the students that struggle more than others because this gives them that extra help and helps talk them through what is expected in each step of the problems.
