I plan on implementing google classroom in my classroom to help assign assignments easier. I liked how i can see what everyone is doing on my assignments and how organized it can be. As a parent, they can easily keep track of their homework and see their grades. As the learner, this is so much easier than the sites that both of my colleges have used. I like how everything is right there and easy to access for both students and teachers. I think this is very beneficial because when students are struggling to understand how to access their work or confused on how to work their sites, they will give up and lose all interest. Some more pros about google classroom are no lost work, better engagement, less paper, easy access, exposure to online learning, and the differentiation. I think the most important part is the exposure because almost every college student will be forced to take online college courses and this is very beneficial to them because they will understand what is expected of them. Being in class and being online is two totally different things and they can easily overwhelm the students if they haven't had exposure. The communication that this site allows is a major plus for the students, teachers, and parents.
TPACK article:
I think it is very important to make sure teachers understand how to use the technology in their classrooms because in this world today technology is used for almost everything. I remember when I was in middle/high school it was mandatory for us to take a class about computers and it honestly helped prepare me for college considering I use almost all of the programs I learned about.
The teaching and technology article:
In my opinion, I think technology in the classroom is good because in our future jobs a majority if not all of us will use technology. I think it is very important for us to understand that not everyone has access to technology and we cant hold that against anyone. I think we need to keep that in mind because there is always negatives with technology.
The NET generation:
I like how this article brought up how students are interested in blogs, wikis, etc. this could be very beneficial in classes like this because we have prior knowledge and can build on it. In this article it does talk about how some social media outlets can be used for educational reasons. For example, we can ask for info about courses, how to go about working on certain assignments, and teachers can make a page to keep up with the parents. It can also be used to ask for recommendations for laptops for school, what programs are best when making lesson plans, and many other ways. There can always be ways that things can be used as educational.
